Our Daughter Needs Help

We never expected to find ourselves in this situation, and it’s not easy for us to ask for help. But we’re reaching out in hopes of easing a financial burden our family is struggling to manage.

At a routine dental checkup, we were told that our daughter had eight cavities. Her dentist told us he wouldn’t be treating them and that we would need to find another dentist. About a week later, we received a letter informing us that our dental insurance had been dropped.

We were shocked and confused. Our daughter doesn’t eat much candy, we brush her teeth every day, and she doesn’t drink soda or juice. We couldn’t understand how this had happened, so we sought second opinions from three different dentists because we wanted to make sure we understood what was going on and what our daughter needed.

Ultimately, she needed to undergo anesthesia to have all of her cavities treated. We believed the procedure would be covered by insurance, but we later learned that the anesthesia and treatment facility were not covered because the procedure took place in a clinic rather than a hospital.

Now, we’re facing $5,230 in unexpected dental bills.

We’re also trying to get to the bottom of why this happened. Our daughter has been experiencing stomach issues and is currently being evaluated for celiac disease, which may be contributing to her unexplained dental problems. We have an appointment with a gastroenterologist next week and are praying we can find some answers.

I’m a stay-at-home mom, and my husband works long hours, overtime, and two jobs to provide for our family. Even with all his hard work, this unexpected expense has been difficult for us to manage on top of our regular household bills.

Asking for help isn’t easy, but our priority is taking care of our daughter and making sure she gets the care she needs. We’re asking for help paying off these dental bills so we can take some of this financial weight off our family while we continue figuring out what’s going on with her health.

If you’re able to donate, any amount, no matter how small, would mean so much to our family. If you aren’t able to give financially, sharing our fundraiser would also help us more than you know.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story, for your kindness, and for helping us through this difficult season. We are incredibly grateful for every donation, share, and prayer. ❤️
