Dear beloved family and friends of Christos,

Losing a parent in childhood is devastating. Losing both parents within seven weeks is unheard of—unbearable and heartbreaking. And yet this unimaginable tragedy happened one week before Christmas to our precious nephew, Christos, who is only ten. Ten!

Thus, with heavy hearts, we are sharing the news that our beloved brother Alex Hatziantoniou, Christos' father, suffered a heart attack in New York City on Dec. 16, 2023. He fell asleep in the Lord two days later, on Dec. 18. Alex was only 59.

Seven weeks before, in late October, Christos, an only child, also said goodbye to his beloved mother Maria, after her courageous battle with cancer.

Despite unfathomable loss, Christos, now an orphan, is resilient and lovable. Christos never complains. Instead, he is wise beyond his years. And like his father, Alex, who played high-school basketball, Christos loves playing hoops. He also adores his shaggy, little dog Luna.

We do not know what the future holds for Christos, but we trust that Almighty God will hold him in His loving embrace.

In the meantime, we have set up a fundraiser for Christos. Your generous contributions will go towards Christos' immediate needs, including, but not limited to, education, and healthcare, as well future needs including college or vocational training.

Your help will be a a big blessing and a source of hope and comfort for our beloved Christos—he's endured so much already.
