I am Jolen Lesswing. I am the founder of Fantasy River Ranch Haven-Work to Board Program.

Homeless is a persistent problem in our country and one that very few people even bother trying to solve. Why? Because we have normalized this horrific situation. We are too used to seeing the homeless roaming the streets or banding together in communities underneath bridges and next to rivers. The general thinking is, “Hey, someone else will take care of it – right?”

At Fantasy River Ranch Haven, we are committing ourselves to being the ones who take care of it. Our strategy is fairly simple: we purchase abandoned and unwanted houses, motels, apartment buildings, RV parks, and small towns in order to create opportunities for homeless to live and work. We want to set up safe places for the homeless, places where these people in need can get out of the cold, rest, and eat. Long-term, we want to address the homelessness issue on a large scale, supplanting or at least complementing the outdated and outmoded system of shelters.

Some of the programs that our tenants will work for include FRR Haven Food 4 All, which is a food truck, a crafts business, and construction on new houses. No one will be asked to work more than twenty hours in a single week.

Risks & Challenges

As desperate as our communities are for a solution like Fantasy River Ranch Haven, people are hesitant to accept any drastic ideas. Therefore, one of our biggest challenges will be convincing people of the viability of our project. We know that once we get the ball rolling, the concept will begin to prove itself via results.

What We Need

We are coming to you to ask for your help with a 800 mile trip with a donkey and wagon to bring awareness of Fantasy River Ranch Haven and fund raise for it.

We need $1550 to make sure this trip goes well and we can feed everyone and everything. We will be taking a donkey pulling a wagon and 2 ponies that will be ridden. 

The funds you so graciously give us will be used to bring Awareness about Fantasy River Ranch Haven though the trip.
