🌟 Dear Family, Friends, and Acquaintances, 🌟

As you may know, Conner, our two fur babies, and I are embarking on a new journey to Blacksburg, VA, this fall. I've been blessed to land a wonderful job at Virginia Tech, where I will be teaching piano and choir as a full-time faculty! I believe I might be the first Filipino-identifying person in this position.

With any big move, there are challenges, and we could use your help. Conner has agreed to take this journey with me, meaning he is sacrificing his current employment so I can pursue mine. We are currently working with a work-life liaison at VT to help with his employment. Nevertheless, this transition means he will be losing income until he finds a placement in the area. Setting up a personal fundraiser comes with humility and trust in knowing that you are rooting for us, no matter the distance or how long it has been since we last shared a moment together.

Virginia Tech is assisting with relocation, but after taxes, it barely covers half of our expenses, and we won't receive it until my first paycheck. Our main expense is a U-Haul rental, which costs approximately $3,000. The distance from Reno to Blacksburg spans 41 hours of driving time, which we plan to tackle over 3-4 days. This is our biggest expense that we need help covering. Other significant expenses include housing and the cost of living as we transition to Blacksburg. I wish I could say that I have a lot of money saved up, but I really do not, especially just coming out of my graduate studies.
