Help Us Produce Our Play

The Brightest It's Ever Been is a play about anxiety. Playwright Kayli Slayden used her personal experiences to highlight the low-lights of living with a mental illness and to spread the message that you are not alone in your struggles. The story follows Jamie, an anxious teenage girl, and the (not so) little nagging voice in her head as they navigate what seems to be a normal day for Jamie, but a frightening one for those around her.

The Brightest It's Ever Been will run December 28-30 at Hillcrest Covenant Church in Prairie Village, Kansas.

There are very intense scenes in this play that may not be suitable for all audiences due to themes of mental illness and suicide being present.

The goal of this production is to display a portrayal of anxiety true to the playwright's experience while letting the audience know that they are not alone and that help is accessible.

Our goal is to raise at least $2,000 to support the artists in their work. This campaign aims to raise funds necessary to pay the creatives working on this project. All money raised will go directly to these artists.

Donors in Level 1, the $1-$19 bracket, will receive a thank you video from the cast as well as a free ticket to the play.

Level 2 gifters, $20-$49, will receive a poster signed by the cast and crew, access to a recording of the play as well as the previous rewards.

Level 3 gifters, $50+, will be included in the play's digital program, receive a personal thank you letter from the playwright, as well as the previous rewards.

Thank you, and remember, you are not alone!

Note: because we are not a 501(c)(3) non-profit, gifts are non-tax-deductible.
