hi there! my name is james. i'm a 17-year-old trans man who lives with my service dog, soapy, and my cat, artemis. due to some personal family-issues regarding my gender identity, my mental health/mental illnesses, and general unsafeness of the home, i have chosen to live independently and am currently renting a room while i work on becoming legally emancipated (which can, for people in similar situations to mine, be lengthy and costly). in the meantime, i have almost completely emptied my savings account and make very little money working full-time. the cost of living, per month, is around $700-$800. depending on the month, it can even run upwards of $1000, especially considering veterinary services, personal medical services, and unanticipated problems. in short, as much as i hate to admit it, i cannot continue to support myself and my pets in a healthy manner. my biggest fear is ending up homeless (which i technically fit all the criteria for) while a minor and with my pets. i hate having to ask for money (and help in general) as my biggest wish in life is to be fully self-sustainable and self-supported and to be viewed that way. i never dreamed that i'd have to do something like this to barely manage to scrape by but it seems like this is just the reality. i need monetary help from whomever is able to support myself and my pets and help keep us off the streets. all money will be saved for rent each month with any extra going towards my pets. any left after that will go to myself but i will always put the needs of my pets, who i see as my best friends, before myself. if you can, any donation is more than i could ever thank you for. if not, sharing this or the post this is in would be the most amazing donation i coukd ever receive. thank you for taking the time to read this!
