Help us stay together
My dear community,
I'm approaching you to respectfully ask for your support. I've been presented with an opportunity to rent an apartment right next door to the cohousing community where my family (partner, daughter, and stepkid) lives. It's a beautiful little home and would allow for Lucita to have her own room at my place, an amenity we've lacked for the last couple of years that I've been renting a single room at the cohousing. Despite this unconventional and at times inconvenient living arrangement, being next-door neighbors with my family has allowed for invaluable spontaneity of connection and togetherness, a situation that I hope to preserve and develop with this chance to continue living in proximity. It's the next best thing to sharing a single roof, which is impossible at this point because my partner's place is simply not big enough for the whole family, and we can't afford larger. My current lease expires this summer; I thought I'd need to save toward moving costs and find a place then, but my preference now would be to take advantage of this ideal possibility before it's gone, as the owner of the apartment wants to rent it ASAP. She seems quite nice, she told me we'd fit in well with the neighbors, and she said we could have first dibs on the rental. However, having recently paid rather exorbitant income taxes and with Lucita's birthday next month, I'm lacking the funds for first month's rent and deposit upfront. Any amount you can contribute now will go a long way toward securing us a stable place to live, keeping our family together, and providing the space for Lucita's independence as she enters our neighborhood high school this fall. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support you've offered our family in the past; I've been truly floored and humbled by your generosity. Please consider helping us now to maintain family stability and security in these challenging and uncertain economic times.
With all my gratitude,
Sauvryn
