Help Vasilica get surgery
Hello friends, family, and compassionate souls,
Since 2020, my life has been touched by an incredible woman named Vasilica Gheorghe. Originally from Romania, Vasilica was my mother's sole caretaker from the time she was sick to her death.
Vasilica went above and beyond the call of duty, demonstrating unparalleled compassion and dedication for my mother. During my mom's illness and up until her passing, Vasilica was a constant source of support. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, when travel restrictions and safety concerns prevented me from being there physically, Vasilica stood in the gap. Vasilica's devotion extended far beyond the typical responsibilities of a caretaker. She opened her home to my Alzheimer stricken mom when she could not stay alone, ensuring she felt the warmth of family even in the most challenging times. Vasilica visited my mom in the hospital every day and handled the practical aspects of my mom's passing, from arranging the transport of her body to the morgue to emptying her apartment. She even took the time to select and deliver my mom's favorite dress and perfume to the morgue, ensuring she was laid to rest with dignity and love.
Since Vasilica has 2 young daughters and was making 10/hr doing the most difficult jobs, I have been supporting her family after my mom's passing. But a year ago, Vasilica suffered a brain aneurysm that left her left hand and left foot paralyzed. This tragic incident occurred while she was working tirelessly, cleaning 40 hotel rooms a day for a mere $10 per hour (it's TRUE) - Since Vasilica is not a French citizen, she has been left without the crucial support of the French social system to cover the costs of her necessary treatment.
The urgency of Vasilica's situation cannot be overstated – she is currently bedridden, unable to use her left hand and foot, while her two daughters help her as much as they can when they are not in school.
There is a surgery that could install a stent in Vasilica's hand and foot, offering her the chance to regain mobility and independence is only available for free in her home country, Romania -I've been assisting Vasilica with rent, food and other expenses but the scope of her needs has expanded beyond my means. That's why I'm turning to you, my community, for help.
The funds raised through this campaign will go directly towards securing Vasilica's family basic needs and the PURCHASE OF A SIMPLE / USED wheelchair to improve her mobility and so she can go outside. Most importantly, these funds will go towards financing Vasilica's and daughters' TRIP TO ROUMANIA TO UNDERGO THE SURGERY that could give her back the use of her hand and foot.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in Vasilica's life. I humbly ask for your generosity and kindness during this critical time. Even 10 or 20$ will make a profound impact on Vasilica's and her daughters well being.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.
