Stephen Kaiser
Help w/ End of Life Costs
Some people come into your life and leave a mark that never fades. That was Stephen Thomas Smith for me, and for so many others.
I’ve known Stephen since I was about 13 years old, and over time he became so much more than a friend, closer than family, and truly someone incredibly special to me. He was kind, genuine, and had a way of making people feel seen and cared for. He was a hard worker who had a passion for football, music, cars and GOD. His warmth and humor brought light into so many lives, and his absence is deeply felt.
On March 21, 2026, Stephen passed away at just 34 years old after a brave battle with salivary duct carcinoma, one of the rarest and most aggressive cancers he could have faced at his age.
Despite everything he went through, he carried himself with strength, grace, and a quiet resilience that inspired so many of us. He never let his illness define him. Instead, he continued to show love, humor, and compassion in ways that left a lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to know him. Even in the hospital, up until his final days, he made sure his mom was taken care of, always putting the people he loved above himself. That’s just the kind of man he was.
This loss is made even more heartbreaking by the unimaginable grief his mother Patty, father Thomas, and brother Justin have endured. Stephen is the third child they have lost, out of the 4 gifted to them by god, just in the time I have known them. His sister Brittany passed away almost five years ago at the age of 32, and his older sister Angela was taken far too soon in 2008 at just 21, leaving behind two young children.
No parent or sibling should ever have to experience this kind of loss, let alone over and over again.
In the midst of this tragedy, his loved ones did everything they could to give Stephen the farewell he deserved, and in a timely manner.
It was confided in me, that to make this possible, his mom took on all of his end-of-life expenses herself by placing them on credit.
I feel no parent should have to face financial debt in order to have thier child laid to rest. So I want to help if possible.
I’m hoping we can come together as a community to help ease that financial burden and show whats left of his family, they are not alone.
If you are able, please consider donating to help cover these expenses and support Stephen’s family during this incredibly difficult time.
Any amount, even $1, truly makes a difference. If you’re not in a position to give, sharing this page and keeping their family in your thoughts and prayers means just as much.
Stephen’s life, though far too short, was filled with love, and his memory will live on through all of us who were lucky enough to know him.
Thank you for helping us honor him and support his family.
