Help with medical debt
So it’s a bit of a long situation. I’m a type one diabetic and in 2024 I got an insulin pump that changed my life. Little did I know that my insurance was not being billed properly. Come spring of 2025 I was informed by my pump supply company that there was a hold on my account due to non-payments. Up until that point there were no payments stated on my account. I set up a payment plan! Well come November I was going to be traveling so I went to order supplies only to find out that the company would no longer send me supplies. Stating that I owed them money and had to pay it off in full. I thought I could get in with my endocrinologist to get help, but she didn’t have appointments available for months. So I try to make due with only one type of insulin now when I need two if I don’t have the pump. This takes its toll, I stopped eating to preserve my insulin and to try and keep my blood sugar from spiking. It didn’t matter because in January I ended up in the hospital with diabetic ketoacidosis. That hospital stay has me drowning and I can’t even afford groceries anymore. Please, I don’t know what else to do. I am already paying off other debts. I just need a little help.
