Help with Predatory Loan

Hello there; my name is Erica and I am a single mom of three. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I was facing eviction this month, and my leasing company wanted all of June and July with late fees up front. I was able to get almost all of it, but unfortunately had to take out a super predatory loan to offset about $1,400. I tried applying for rental assistance before I resorted to this loan, but was not eligible. I needed to act fast, so I did it. With interest, before I have even made the first payment, it is now a little over $1,700, and it is only going to climb further.

I hate reaching out for help like this, but I am hoping to get this paid off before it gets worse. I did what I needed to do to help save my home for my kids (and myself, but mostly for them). I work super hard and have not only a full-time, 40-hour-a-week job, but I work driving Uber Eats on the weekends for 18–24 hours and also sell jewelry on the side. I work incredibly hard and live very modestly, and it feels like I can never get ahead. I did what needed to be done, but I already am scraping by as it is, adding an extra bill with a super high interest rate is scary now that the reality of it has set in. I have no idea if I’ll even post about this anywhere because it’s so sensitive to me (especially given the last few years of my life) but you never know who might see something, and I have to try before my problems become even bigger.

I just want to live a quiet life and work and take care of my kids.

Thank you for listening and helping if you can. If not, it’s okay. And if you want to judge me, that’s okay too; I know who I am and what I am capable of. 🩷
