Corey and his family have been struggling for several months trying to make it. Corey is a single dad trying to raise his children, and work at the same time. His job fluctuates with the weather. They live in an older mobile home that was given to them, but required a lot of work to make it livable. He still has a lot of work to do on it, but during this time his son Dylan had an accident and broke his wrist and arm. Corey didn’t know until he took Dylan to the hospital is that his insurance had been canceled two days after his 19th birthday. He got no notice he didn’t know anything, plus he hadn’t been able to work for about two weeks because of the weather. I know a lot of people are leery about trying to help anybody, but the orthopedic surgeon refuses to do the surgery unless Corey can pay for it upfront, which is impossible. He received a call coming home from the doctor yesterday and said that if he would pay half of it he would go ahead and do it. Now driving back-and-forth over an hour, and missing work, is taking its toll. He doesn’t even have a decent car to drive he has to borrow one. But it is urgent that this child get his arm fixed according to the surgeon. It could leave him crippled in that arm. I’m setting up this for the family to help with the medical bill, and just to help them keep their head above water. Hopefully this will give Corey time to get the insurance dilemma straightened out and maybe get back to where he can work.
