​Welcoming a new baby is a life-changing milestone filled with excitement, but for a young mother stepping out on her own, it can also feel overwhelming.
​My daughter, Mia Garza, is 19 years old and expecting her first baby boy this November. Like many young mothers, she is facing the reality of raising her son as a single parent while living independently. Without a large network of family support or extra financial cushion, she is currently struggling to pull together the essentials needed to give her little boy a safe, comfortable start in life.
