My name is Nina Christine Gorman from Philadelphia, Pa. USA (D.O.B. 11-18-57). I am a psychotherapist and psychology teacher and a long-time humanitarian and advocate for rights of Palestinians, a woman of peace and not affiliated with any organizations. I came to know Hiam Hussein Mohammed Al Mabhouh (D.O.B. 4/28/91 ) from Deir Al Balah, Gaza, Palestine on meta-Facebook social media about five months ago with many conversations in Facebook messenger. She shared with me her plight of having her tent bombed by the occupation and losing everything, the tent, blankets, clothing, kitchen items everything and then enduring the cold winter on the street with her four boys, Musab, 13, Hassan, 13, Hoor, 11 and Karim age 7.

  Like most in Gaza, Hiam’s family endured bombings nightly or at any time with the children in panic and like most she struggles to get anything to eat often going days with no food so that the children can have just a little flour or some lentils with vegetables with the children getting thin, malnourished and sick. Like many there she must wait in long lines for hours for some water, or soup and come back often with nothing even after the fragile ceasefire since most of aid is still blocked by the occupation.

  I am doing this campaign to help my friend Hiam and her boys avoid starvation and evacuate to Egypt  by providing them food, to secure a tent, mattresses some blankets, clothing for the cold and shoes, some kitchen items and if funds permit a small heater for the tent and to evacuate to Egypt to join her sister there with the boys to start a new life until Hiam can secure work.  

Funds permitting, the family will apply to evacuate with the only company providing such services, the Egyptian company, Hala Travel and Tourism Services with no other coordinators or organizations. They need to raise the funds before getting on the list for evacuation.

I urge you to donate what you can to help Hiam and her boys eat, get some shelter from the winter cold, and to hopefully after the war escape the nightmare and eventually despite all the wounds of their trauma to be happy again.

 My name is Hiam Hussein Mohammed Al Mabhouh, 35 years old from Deir Al Balah, Gaza, Palestine. I am a woman of peace and not affiliated with any organizations. Before the war I had a decent home in Jabalia, and we had a nursery garden which enabled my husband to support my family and help the community. However, the occupation bombed our home and the nursery taking with it my memories and the products of our toil of many years and my ability to share with the poor. We have been displaced many times moving from place to place.  I have endured this horrible war struggling as woman alone.( I do not know where my husband is), struggling for food, water but managed to get a tent but then that also was bombed leaving me and my four children, Musab, Hassan, Hoor and Karim with no shelter and with no clothes or blankets or pots to cook.

  Sometimes we can stay with another family in a tent to sleep but some nights we cannot and we are out in the cold. My children are thin, hungry and like most children in Gaza prone to illnesses and rashes since everything is contaminated by the bombing even the sand beneath our feet and the chickens. We are all prone to getting sick from not eating since the occupation bombed the water and blocks most of the aid. If f we get sick the hospital does not have supplies to treat us since the hospitals are bombed or have almost no supplies from the blockade from this brutal war .

  I fear losing my children everyday and even more I fear I will die and they will have no one to care for them. We wait in long lines for just a loaf of bread or water and often come back with empty hands and with our backs and feet hurting. I am exhausted and hungry and so are my children.

  I urge you to help me and my children survive this nightmare of nightmares and I hope we cannot just survive but also evacuate to Egypt to join my sister and her family there to get some work and some comfort from family. We feel so scared, so cold, and so alone and have no other family in Gaza.
