H.M. Shaw's Veterans Ranch
We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves. My name is Tammi Thompson, my husband Bryan and I are on a mission to do what we can, to help high risk, homeless, and in need Veterans living in or out of H. M. Shaw's Veterans Transition Facility. DBA H. M. Shaw's Veterans Ranch is a new Arizona Non-Profit entity located in Tucson, Arizona. We are in the process of seeking approval for our Federal 501(c)(3). Our focus now is to purchase property. H. M. Shaw's Veterans Ranch needs 6 - 8 acres of properly zoned property. A Building on property with utilities would be a plus as it will add extra expense to bring utilities to the property. We would like to reach out to you for advice or help on how to proceed. Your guidance is greatly appreciated.
Our Mission:
To offer a safe, clean, and healthy environment along with every resource possible to set a path for Veterans, to find their self-worth, dignity, and purpose. H. M. Shaw's Veterans Ranch will guide Veterans in a positive direction to allow them every opportunity to successfully transition from Soldier to Civilian.
H.M. Shaw's Veterans Ranch wants to be the Hand Up! Not the Hand Out.
The Problem:
Tucson has been facing a problem with homeless Veterans for a very long time. Most Veterans enter the service, usually enter right out of school, and most are not equipped with the skills needed to return to civilian life, when their Tour of Duty is complete.
The Resources:
H.M. Shaw's Veterans Transition Ranch's goals are to provide the resources needed to set Veterans up for success living the civilian life.
• To guide our veterans to find self-worth, dignity, and purpose.
When speaking to many veterans, we became aware that the lack of purpose in their lives is what makes them feel useless and unworthy. Veterans are trained to be productive, useful, and committed. The mission of the H. M. Shaw's Veterans Ranch is to give Veterans the dignity and purpose needed to succeed in civilian life. We will provide the tools, resources, structure, compassion, and tough love that is needed for them to use their past as a stepping stone to their future.
We are blessed to have so many wonderful people that want to help us on this journey, without the love and support of our community, we would not have gotten this far. We are an Arizona State approved Nonprofit entity. Our Entity number is 1920137 and we are in the process of getting our 501(c)3 approval. H. M. Shaw's Veteran Ranch needs people like yourself to help with the process. We know that in order to proceed we need to build an entirely new structure. It's our greatest hope that you'll join us in our mission to provide the best Veterans working ranch in our community. Thank you for taking the time to read about H. M.
