Hope for Hope
We are Hope's friends and are truly her only family left in this world. Some of us may have known her a very long time or not long at all, but she has touched us in some way and we know deep down how much love she has in her heart. Deep down, she is a kind, caring and giving person. She never had much to call her own even when she was living at the house downtown knowing that there was a clock ticking away before it would no longer be hers to call home. But when she could she wouldn't hesitate to open her door and make up a couch or a pallet to give you a place to rest and ramen for your belly. She would have a shoulder to cry on and would tell you like it was.
Hope lost her mother tragically at an early age and never had much living family aside from a kind few who have also passed on. Things got out of hand for Hope a while back and she got lost along the way and she made some horrible mistakes that she is living with day to day now in Walker County Georgia. When she is done there, she'll have more to answer for back in Mobile. It will be a long road to freedom, health and sanity and she will need support. Not just financial support, but family. She needs people to tell her like it is, give her tough love, a shoulder to cry on. Money isn't all that she really needs. She needs friends and family when she gets out. She has been in jail since February and while she is facing pretty serious charges, she has a chance at a little better deal. Often enough, wealthy people literally get away with murder and not much more than a slap on the wrist. She knows she did wrong and is prepared to do her time but jail is no place for her to get the healing and help she needs. She has been honest with herself and wants to get treatment when she gets out. We are looking into programs for her and any advice is welcome. Hope really has no blood relatives now and we are her family. Please give what you can when you are able. She has a little commisary money, coffee, personal hygeine products (not free in Georgia) and some comforts, but it will take a group effort to get her better legal counsel. If you can go on JailATM and look up 'Thomas' in Walker County Sherrif GA - send her an email for 50 cents. Every little bit will help and 100 percent of the funds raised here will go to Hope's legal fund. Thank you for reading, for caring and sharing if you are able.
