KK Deserves Her Freedom Back

If you know KK, you know her energy is magnetic. She’s the one who lights up a room — wild, free-spirited, the kind of person whose laugh you hear before you see her.

That’s what makes this so hard.

KK left her house one evening and unfortunately, she was in a motorcycle accident that broke her neck and left her paralyzed from the chest down. The woman who lived so fully, so fearlessly, can no longer move through the world the way she did. And yet — anyone who’s seen her since knows the truth: her spirit never dimmed. Not for a second. She has as much life in her as she ever did. She just can’t reach it right now.

That’s what we’re trying to change.

Three things stand between KK and her independence:

A standing assist machine — so she can stand safely and rebuild her strength.

A manual wheelchair — for lighter travel, so she isn’t stuck maneuvering a 500-pound electric chair everywhere she goes.

A wheelchair accessible vehicle — so she can finally get out the door and back into her community.

These aren’t extras. They’re the difference between a life lived inside four walls and a life lived out in the world — at the dinner table, at the family gathering, in the passenger seat with the window down.

We’re starting with a goal of $5,000. Honestly, it will take more than that to get her everything she needs. But we’re starting small and taking this one step at a time.
