Hi everyone, I'm fundraising for my dear friend, Jeevan Naju, and his family in order to help them with permanent housing.

Jeevan is a driver in Alleppey, Kerala, India and supports his family by guiding visitors to Kerala around his beautiful state. Since the onset of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Jeevan has had no source of income as tourism is at a standstill. International tourism has largely been banned and domestic tourism is virtually nonexistent.

After nearly two years of hoping for a turnaround in the pandemic, Jeevan and his family tragically lost their home when they were unable to keep up with the payments. This is heartbreaking news for any family and especially disruptive as Jeevan lives with his entire extended family.

Having known Jeevan for many years I have had the privilege of visiting Jeevan's beautiful house several times on visits to Alleppey. I saw the immense pride he took in his home: the intricately carved door, the garden he carefully tended while doling out tips on Ayurvedic plants, the kitchen where his in-laws cooked up his favorite chicken biryani, his darling cats, and the unfinished future second story he dreamed of making into a hostel to show travelers another side of Kerala.

More importantly, I saw his devotion to his lovely wife Sabeena, their 12-year-old son Farhan, his sweet in-laws, and his brother's family who lived across the road. Because Jeevan takes care of his whole family, they were all displaced when they lost their home.

Luckily, Jeevan has found temporary housing for his family. And with a little help from us, they can make it permanent. Your dollars will go far in India.
