The people of West Louisiana and East Texas need us. For those that have been through a natural disaster, you understand. For those that may not have had to endure a catastrophic disaster, we will explain.

The Gulf Coast and East Coast are no strangers to Hurricanes. Since 2005, Louisiana has been the destination for 10 Hurricanes, 4 of those being a Cat 2 or higher. A Cat 2 has sustained wind speeds of 96- 110 mph with a storm surge that typically reaches 6-8 feet. A Cat 4, which is what Laura was, has sustained wind speeds of 130-156 mph and a storm surge that can range from 13-18 feet. For reference, that is a sustained wind speed relative to a high F2 tornado.. A 30 mile wide F2 tornado, with impacts that stretch far beyond 30 miles of the direct path.

People literally left for safety, and have come back to nothing. No home, no food, no water, no clothes other than what they had with them, no family photos, nothing. For the people lucky enough to still have a home, many have missing roofs, structural damage, no electricity, no water, and plenty of clean up to do. Everything they have ever worked for is gone, or at risk.

We have created this fundraiser in hopes of being able to help these people. The funds will be solely designated to relief effort. Anything from pedialyte, water, mosquito spray, cleaning products, hygiene products, clothes, food, medicine, baby needs, fuel, and any other unmet needs.
