A few months ago, I made one of the hardest decisions of my life: I left an abusive relationship. For a long time, I endured mental, physical, and financial abuse that left me feeling isolated and without stability. Leaving was necessary for my safety, but starting over has come with overwhelming financial challenges.

Because of the abuse, I was left with very little. I am currently three months behind on my rent and struggling to catch up before I lose the place I now call home. On top of that, I have school-related fees that I must pay in order to begin nursing school. Becoming a nurse has been my dream for years, and I see it as my opportunity to build a stable, independent future where I can support myself and help others through some of the hardest moments of their lives.

Right now, I feel like I'm standing at a crossroads. I have worked hard to break free from a situation that was harming me, but the financial impact of leaving has been devastating. Every day, I am doing everything I can to move forward, but the weight of rent, fees, and basic living expenses has made it difficult to get back on my feet.

Asking for help is not easy for me. I have always wanted to handle things on my own, but I have learned that sometimes accepting kindness is part of healing.
