I need a Root Canal

While pregnant with my son 5 years ago, I suffered a calcium deficiency. I was placed on prenatal vitamins fortified with extra calcium and iron, and stayed on them throughout my entire pregnancy. 2 weeks before I delivered, I suffered the loss of my Grandfather, who I was a caretaker for at the time. The grief and sadness overtook me and I fell out of my follow up appointments after 6 weeks. I was almost a year into my breastfeeding journey once I realized my body was aching horribly, my hair was falling out, and my teeth literally felt loose. After an appointment and some blood work, I was informed I was supposed to be taking the prenatal vitamins even during my postnatal experience especially while breastfeeding . I took home my prescription, and attempted to add my vitamins back to my daily regimen. I will admit that I wasn’t at all consistent. I was extremely scattered in the brain around that time, borderline out my of my mind because I felt out of my body. Idk. Around that time my son started showing signs of asthma, but due to his age they didn’t give him an official diagnosis. I was going back and forth with myself about switching him to formula because I had been so tired, but I heard about digestive and congestive issues infants faced often times after being switched, so I of course opted out.

My front tooth cracked about a month after that. My back molar almost 2 months following my front tooth and at that point I was over it. I had to wean my baby, and figure out what was going on. I learned that because my front tooth wasn’t cracked due to a cavity , insurance didn’t cover it. And my molar required a root canal due to the way it cracked, but my insurance doesn’t cover root canals for those over the age of 20. Ive been at loss for what to do . I switched to chewing on the other side while I attempted to take hold of my post partum depression, in addition to control of my life as I walked into this new season. It’s been a journey, to say the least. I just about got my footing now. We went through 3 cars( 1 totaled, 1 repo, 1 stolen) , 2 homes, a countless number of hospital visits/stays and jobs due to a lack of understanding in the workforce when it comes to chronically ill children. It’s been hurting on and off in waves for about a year and some change now. I’ve lost 16lbs over the last year, which would be lovely if I wasn’t only 125 lbs to start. Not to mention I cracked my molar on the opposite side this year they weekend before Mothers Day eating a damn carrot from a vegetable tray. Smh. So now at 108lbs, 2 teeth cracked, and mind you I’m 27, I don’t know what I’m going to do.

My son is on his way to kindergarten and has an exuberant personality, so keeping him occupied and fulfilled has been my upmost priority. I already have stopped getting my nails and hair done, and rarely shop for anything outside of him and our needs for the general household. I don’t even want to consider pulling him from anything, because he needs it one and two the cost of the procedure would be the equivalent of about 3-4 of his extracurriculars and that’s just not an option, for me. I can’t make myself okay with it. So , I’m looking for donations.

Id so much appreciate any help you guys are able and willing to extend! I know this economy has gotten crazy for a number of us and I’ve felt silly about even prioritizing my teeth because I felt it was strictly cosmetic, but it’s contributing toward a physical decline in general right now that I will stop. I have to.
