In desperate need
My name is Lou, and I never imagined I’d be in this position—writing to strangers, asking for help to keep my family afloat. I’m a single father to two beautiful children, ages 8 and 11. My youngest, my sweet little girl, is bravely fighting cancer. She’s stronger than I could ever be, but the treatments are taking a toll on her tiny body and on our lives.
Just weeks ago, I lost my job. I’ve been searching every day for work, but the bills are piling up faster than I can keep up. Rent, utilities, medical expenses, and groceries it’s all becoming overwhelming. Some days, I skip meals so my kids can eat. I try to stay strong for them, but the truth is, I’m scared.
I’m not asking for luxuries just enough to keep a roof over our heads, food on the table, and the lights on while I get back on my feet. Any help, no matter how small, would mean the world to us. Even sharing our story could make a difference.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading this. Thank you for caring. And thank you for giving my children and me a little hope in a time when it feels like the world is closing in.
With gratitude,
Lou B.
