In desperate need of help
Hi, I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a desperate plea for help. My life has been turned completely upside down due to an unimaginable series of events—and now, I’m struggling just to try stay above water
My fiance was wrongfully convicted of a cold-case crime he didn’t commit. Despite hiring legal help and even a private investigator (a former county employee of 17 years) who confirmed there was no physical evidence, just a false statement from an angry relative—he was sentenced to 40 years by a judge who seemed more interested in retaliation than justice. When the jury said “innocent,” the judge overruled them and declared him guilty.
Since that day, everything has fallen apart.
At the time, I wasn’t working due to a severe car accident. We had drained our savings fighting this case. Suddenly, I had no income, mounting bills, and full-time care of my 16-year-old nephew, who suffers from seizures after losing his mother. I was also being threatened and stalked by people connected to the victim’s family. Police even found them parked outside my home multiple times.
I was forced to surrender our home, unable to pay the $1,500 mortgage and fearing for our safety. I moved into an old mobile home I owned, but it was in disrepair after being used by family members who didn’t maintain it. Then came more blows:
My power was shut off due to a $500 tampering fee I didn’t cause. My son, who had lived there before, never paid it.
The electric company kept my $500 deposit to cover the tampering charge, and I’ve been without power for 3 months in the Texas summer heat.
I got a job but I lost it after the victim’s mother showed up outside my workplace on several occasions
was arrested over an 11-year-old ticket for burning during a burn ban—one that had supposedly been dismissed, because my fiance would not take the county's 2 year plea bargain on something he didn't do.
I’ve had multiple car issues, including 3 blown tires in the last month and half.
I’m doing odd jobs to avoid being harassed and stalked by the victims family, I have to be very cautious because they are dangerous people. I just can’t catch up fast enough.
My nephew is staying with my mother for now, but he wants to come home. I’m trying to hold things together, but I’m physically and emotionally exhausted.
I've never been one to ask for help, in fact I've always been the one helping others. BUT Right now, I’m asking for help to:
*Pay the $500 deposit to get my electricity turned back on
*Fix my AC/Heat unit, which will cost $212
*And replace the faucets in my home because the people I allow to stay in my trailer didn't bother to leave water dripping during the freeze and blew the faucets apart so I can't use the kitchen or bathroom sinks.
I sleep in a hot, dark house every night, afraid and overwhelmed. Anything you can give will go directly toward making my home livable again. If you can’t donate, please say a prayer for me, my fiance and my nephew. I believe there are still kind people in the world—and right now, I really could use your help.
Thank you in advance for reading, caring, and donations..I promise to pay it forward when I'm back on my feet again.
