My grandpa Duane recently passed away after years of living with CLL (chronic lymphocytic leukemia), which he was diagnosed with in 2020. This year, his illness suddenly became much more severe and progressed rapidly before he passed. Watching him suffer and losing him so quickly has been heartbreaking for our family. He and my grandma were married for almost 56 years and together for 59, sharing a lifetime of love, memories, and a family that meant everything to him.

Grandpa was a musician who loved working on cars, but his family was always at the heart of his life. He worked hard for us, took care of us, and was always someone we could count on. He was the main provider for their household, but as his illness worsened, he had to stop working because he could no longer physically handle it.

We’re grateful to be receiving some help with funeral costs already. This fundraiser will help cover the remaining expenses and support my grandma with bills and everyday needs. With Grandpa unable to work before his passing and now gone, she is facing financial uncertainty while grieving the man who was by her side for nearly six decades. We want to help ease that burden and care for her the way he always cared for us.
