Emergency: Life Crisis

Emergency; Life Crisis

Summary of events:

Just recently I lost everything: My spouse of many years who died one morning suddenly (no life insurance; he said he is healthy and will get to live to his 90s), my home, my retirement, I am about to lose my car because of expensive failing parts and I will end up homeless on the street, instead of homeless in my car - which I use for shelter right now, PLUS: Instead of sailing into the sunset, I am working a brutally physically hard labor job at mid 50s with an injured wrist and no health insurance to take care of this problem.

In a few words: A full rug-pull, a full blown crisis.

The full story:

In August 2025, my spouse, in his mid 60s, passed away unexpectedly. Since then, I’ve been completely on my own.

A year ago, my spouse was going blind caused by cateract on both eyes, In early 2025 we took out a loan so he could have that surgery, which he did. I personally backed it up—I still owe $7,000 to the medical team. He very suddenly died unexpectedly in his sleep one morning in August 2025. They said it was a heart attack. I never knew there was anything wrong with his heart or circulatory system. There was no life insurance. Right after his death, I got evicted from our rental home in a 55+ community. My life got literally rug-pulled from this day on.

I’m in my 50s and now work a physically demanding warehouse job because I have no other choice. The job has injured my wrist, but I can’t take time off—if I don’t work, I don’t get paid. I also don’t have health insurance. No worker’s comp. I’m pushing through the pain just to survive.

Right now, I’m living in my car in a safe-parking area.

That car is everything to me—it’s how I get to work, and it’s also where I sleep. But it’s breaking down and needs major repairs, including the transmission and radiator. If it fails, I lose both my transportation and my shelter at the same time.

I’ve always handled things on my own and never imagined I would be in a position like this. But after losing my spouse and trying to keep going alone, I’ve reached a point where I can’t fix this by myself.

I’m asking for help to:

  • Keep my car running so I don’t lose my only shelter
  • Stay working while dealing with my wrist injury
  • Get through this period without everything falling apart

Even a small amount helps more than you might think.

If you’re someone who looks for a real person to help in a difficult moment, I would be deeply grateful for your support.

Immediate Goal: $7,000

(to pay off medical debt)

Full Goal: $20,000

(to fully recover and get back on stable ground, and repair or replace the car)
