Those that know me well, know that I've struggled with depression for most of my life. There have been some seasons that are easier than others and it seems that now, I'm living through some of the worst of it.

The past few months have been a struggle & things seemed to be slowly getting worse. I made the decision to go back on antidepressants (I had stopped Aug 2019 to focus on a more natural way of managing my mental health). I started on medication April 30th and Wednesday May 12th started having suicidal thoughts. I had a feeling it was from the medication, so I abruptly stopped them (not something I nor medical professionals would suggest) and talked to my counselor that evening about possible inpatient treatments centers. He told me about a place called Honey Lake Clinic located in Greenville, FL (https://www.honeylake.clinic/) I looked at their website and it honestly seemed like a dream come true.

I called Honey Lake on Thursday and found out that they are not in-network with insurance and the total cost for their 30 day minimum stay is $30,000. They offered a scholarship that would bring the cost down to $18,000. In order to seek treatment here, I would have to pay the amount upfront. Also, anything over the 30 day stay would cost $600 per day.

This seems like such a huge amount of money, but it also seems like such an amazing opportunity. I have been struggling for so long and I truly believe that I can find a lot of healing by going for intensive inpatient treatment at Honey Lake. I honestly would've never looked for inpatient treatment without having an adverse reaction to medication and I would never have asked my counselor about care & wouldn't have known about Honey Lake Clinic otherwise.

This is scary for me because I feel like it's impossible to raise the money I need, BUT I know that I serve a BIG God and I don't believe in coincidences.
