Invest in Marcos: Future

Hello, my name is Marcos. When I arrived in the United States to start my life over from scratch, I brought two unshakeable things with me: a relentless work ethic and my lifelong calling for dentistry.

Back home, I dedicated years to mastering oral healthcare and surgical rehabilitation. However, immigrating to the US means that to return to the dental chair as a licensed Dental Surgeon, I must rebuild my credentials from the ground up. Having worked here as a dental assistant, I witnessed two heartbreaking realities: the urgent shortage of skilled dentists, and the thousands of patients who suffer in silence because they cannot afford complex prosthetics or dental implants to eat, speak, and smile with dignity.

Why $1,000,000? Moving Beyond a Degree to Create a Community Endowment

You might wonder why this campaign has a $1,000,000 goal. This is not merely a student fund—it is a two-phase social impact project. My objective does not end the day I receive my US diploma; that is where the real mission begins. Every dollar raised is responsibly allocated into two transparent phases:

Phase 1: Academic Bridge, Tuition & Full Licensure (~$350,000): Covering full-time study survival expenses, National Boards (INBDE), clinical bench tests, and the steep tuition of a 2-to-3-year US Dental School Advanced Standing program (which alone costs over $250,000 for international graduates).

Phase 2: The Functional & Aesthetic Restoration Fund (~$650,000): Every single dollar beyond my licensing and living costs is dedicated to launching a subsidized clinical care program. Once licensed, I will use this capital to directly mitigate the high costs of removable prosthetics and dental implant surgeries for low-income patients, seniors, and underserved families who cannot afford to restore their functional and aesthetic stability.

Why Traditional Financial Aid & FAFSA Don’t Apply Here

Many people understandably ask if government loans or scholarships cover this path. However, foreign-trained professionals and low-income dental patients face a dual financial catch-22:

No Federal Aid (FAFSA) for the Prerequisite Phase: Federal student aid does not cover the full-time study period required to pass the Boards and clinical admission exams, and international emergency grants cap out at $500 to $1,000—barely enough for a single test fee.

The Healthcare Gap in Prosthetics & Implants: In the US, dental implants and complex prosthetics cost tens of thousands of dollars and are rarely covered by basic insurance. By funding my path debt-free and capitalizing this care fund, you empower me to treat patients based on their clinical need, not their bank account.

An Investment That Multiplies

Starting over in a new country requires grit, and every hour I spend working survival jobs delays the day I can operate on patients who desperately need oral rehabilitation.

By partnering with me today, you are not just helping one dentist cross the finish line—you are funding the future surgeries, implants, and prosthetics that will give hundreds of people back their ability to chew, speak, and live without shame.

Thank you for believing in a vision that goes beyond myself and transforms lives through dentistry.

With gratitude and determination, Marcos
