Isabel Gallegos and David Alvarado are nearing the end of a years-long U.S. immigration process so that they can finally be reunited as a married couple. As one of the last steps in this process, they have to attend a meeting together at a U.S. consulate in Mexico to finalize the paperwork for David's green card. Travel and expenses for this part of the green card process will cost $2400. David and Isabel thought that they would have more time to save up for the trip, but their appointment was scheduled much sooner than expected, causing a cash crunch. Thus, we are trying to raise $2400 for Isabel and David's green card process by January 20.

If you know Isabel at all, then you know that she is constantly the one making fundraiser pages like this for friends and neighbors in our community who are struggling. Now it's our turn to do the same for her. Any amount you can give will help us meet our goal of $2400. To give, preferably please Venmo Isabel directly (@isabelgallegos_). However, you can also give through this website if you prefer. All contributions will go toward this green card appointment. If we raise more than needed, any excess funds will be put toward David's eventual application for U.S. citizenship.

Update: As of 1/16, we have raised $2,118 including Venmo! However, flight costs were much higher than first anticipated, so the goal is now $2400 rather than the original goal of $1925.
