Isaiahs Leukemia Fight
My youngest brother is 22, and he's in a fight for his life. In 2021 he was diagnosed with a rare disease called HLH. His hemoglobin had dropped to 1.8, so he barely had any blood in his body. He did chemo treatments and got better. Then in Dec of 2022 he started having arm pains, he was diagnosed with tendonitis & was being treated for that. He had a follow up appt scheduled for 2/7 with the orthopedic Dr. On 2/1 mom took his to a Dr appt to get lab work done, on the way to the car, she didn't like the way he was breathing, so she drove around the building to the ER & took him in, while she was in the ER the Dr called & wanted her to take him to the hospital immediately because his White Blood Count was extremely high &. His hemoglobin was dropping again. She told him she was at the ER with him already, so he called and had him admitted. They did some tests & a bone marrow biopsy & told us he had leukemia specifically Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. . Which is most likely what he had in 2021. He was immediately started on a new chemo regimen & was in the hospital for 3 weeks & will go back for a week for every month for 7 more treatments. Now we have found out that he needs to go to MD Anderson & they want $3000 (it's not covered by insurance) up front to read his bone marrow scan, they will also have travel expenses to cover, plus they are paying on a $19,000 bill from last time he was in the hospital. He has health insurance now, but we know that it's not going to cover everything he is going to need & he still has a deductible & copays
If you can, please donate for my brother. $5 counts & adds up when it's needed. If you aren't able to donate, please share & keep him in your prayers.
Thanks so much,
Margo
