A Friendly Request.

Amelia and I, Jonathan Salas hope to serve the local church in Venezuela. Both of us are already signed to serve as missionary pilots and mechanics in the jungles of Venezuela. The Venezuelan local church has missionaries reaching the indigenous tribes in the forest of Venezuela; these missionaries are learning the languages of the tribes, writing their alphabets, teaching the indigenous how to read and write, translating the Bible and evangelizing them in their own languages.

Our goal is to have an aviation program in Venezuela, to provide flights to the local churches that are sending and supporting missionaries serving in remote areas. For them to reach the tribes though, one must trek through waterfalls, rivers and dense jungles for 7 days. Not only is it a dangerous threat, but it is also exhausting because the missionaries have to carry on their backs all the supplies needed for several months.

The local church is starting an Aviation program with the goal of providing a safer and faster way of transportation for missionaries. Aviation is an expensive ministry but it is a tool that can save lives and provide an opportunity for those in isolated areas to have access to the Gospel. God has been faithful and He has provided an airplane and an aircraft mechanic, but there is a need for missionary pilots. Amelia and I are currently being trained as missionary pilot and mechanic at Moody Aviation, in Spokane WA. The aviation training consists of five years, and we plan to start serving in Venezuela at the beginning of 2022 once we have completed our training.

Currently, Jonathan is in last year of aviation training at Moody Aviation. And we humbly ask you to help us finish our training. We are in need of financial support in order to finish the training at Moody and transition to the mission field.

Please take our request into consideration. We do not ask that you feel pity and just send money our way. We simply ask that you pray and allow God to lead however He wills. We have so much love for all of you and for our Father. We do not want you or we to stray from His will even in giving of your money! If God urges you, however, He speaks to you to support us.
