Jazzcats Ultimate Frisbee

Help Jazzcats Ultimate Frisbee attend Lobster Pot!

We are Jazzcats Ultimate Frisbee from Berklee College of Music and it's time to register for Lobster Pot Ultimate Frisbee Tournament! We have not attended Lobster Pot since 2017 are very excited at the opportunity to play other schools. We anticipate taking a team of 24 students.

Who are we? Jazzcats Ultimate Frisbee Team is a sports team that specializes in team practices and casual pickups comprised entirely of students (i.e. current students of Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee). The purpose of the group is to provide both an opportunity for students to gain experience learning and playing ultimate frisbee as part of a team as well as opportunities for physical exercise. If we have the numbers, we look to go to one tournament a year called Lobster Pot. We are lucky that our turnout has been fantastic this year since everyone is returning back to campus and we have a competitive team of 24 students dedicated to the game of Ultimate Frisbee.

What is Lobster Pot? Maine Ultimate in conjunction with the City of South Portland, Visit Portland and the Maine Sports Commission is hosting the Lobster Pot on October 23-24 at the Wainwright Fields in South Portland, Maine. This year, Jazzcats Ultimate Frisbee Team is registering as a college mixed division. (There will also be a club mixed division on top of the 3 college mens divisions, Upper, Lower and Developmental, the 2 college womxns divisions, upper and lower).

When do we need the funding?

$500 Team Tournament Fee - Due October 22st

$1800 Rental Vans from Boston to South Portland to the field and back home - Due October 18th

$2500 Hotel or Airbnb Housing for October 22nd-October 24th - Due October 14th

How are we being COVID safe? As this is a larger event, we are working to be as safe as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic. We test on campus at Berklee once a week and will be sure everyone attending is able to get their result for the week before going on the trip. A note from the Maine Ultimate team: "We want everyone to have a great time, but we are also cognizant of the prevalence of the delta variant of Covid-19 and plan to take extra precautions for the weekend. At Lobster Pot, all players must be vaccinated for Covid-19 or present proof of a negative test within 48 hours of the tournament."
