In early November 2020, Jeff was diagnosed with cancer, in and of itself, a huge impact.
He began an aggressive treatment of radiation and chemotherapy in order to start his battle with cancer. It turned out he also had the leftovers of a bacterial infection. Due to his suppressed immune system, as a result of the chemotherapy, he quickly became septic.
Jeff was admitted to the hospital on December 11, 2020, and soon found himself intubated and barely holding on for life in the ICU. He went into septic shock & we nearly lost him, twice.
Jeff's journey to date has truly been a miracle. He has defied the odds and is recovering!
He has transitioned to acute care (Hooray!) after over 2 months in the ICU & another month in the hospital.
Throughout this stay, Jeff has begun to amass substantial medical bills. The money raised will be used to pay for Jeff's accrued medical bills as well as assist with expenses as he recovers. He is currently on leave from providing care for others as an ER nurse.
His progress is phenomenal, but he still has a long road ahead.
Jeff has given so much to us - his friends and family, and to our community as a frontline healthcare worker - and so we ask that you help support him during his continuing recovery.
