I'm building this fundraiser for my dad he had over 15 strokes April 14,2021 two of them massive strokes one on each side of his brain they took everything from him he has to relearn everything from walking, talking, raising his arms, to moving his fingers and toes everything. He's came a long way in a short time he can move his legs and his right arm he can talk again but it sounds different not like his voice before. After the strokes he can't work he has been classified as disabled and he is but he has no insurance and no disability income and with that comes no help for therapy of any kind and no income but bills don't stop. My dad was always a very independent and prideful man never asked anybody for anything and didn't take hand outs or ask for them. The man has been working since he was 13 and has worked hi butt off for everything he has but now he can't and has no help with anything. We are trying to get him disability started and Medicaid but we all know how slow the government can be. Now there's me, my wife and my mom. I assist in any heavy lifting which means him. I help stand him up, move him from place to place bed to bed etc. out to the car for doctors appointments etc. I also help with physical therapy of which there is no actually therapist just us. My mom helps with bathroom stuff like cleaning him and urinals since he doesn't really leave the bed and baths and just basic needs feeding him etc. and he's making progress of doing some things himself. My wife takes care of his medication and assists my mom with financial stuff making calls and appointments that kind of thing and we all kinda do the cooking. My dad as I said was very independent and never stayed still at all and now is a prisoner in his own mind and body which is heart breaking to watch. Going back to work I can't be there for my dad when he needs me therefore I'm trying to find another way to make money where I can be at home and help him. I am also an artist I paint, draw, leather tool, and weld. I'm currently building custom electric bikes. I'm willing to do a piece or a bike or whatever for the top donators as a way to give back. I want to continue to do things like this as a way to make a living the art stuff that is and if donations can help make that possible I have a page on Facebook called Carolina Outlaw Customs where I post projects and my personal page Jerry Moran as well any help would would be greatly appreciated.
