J&J 50th Anniversary
Congratulations to my Mom and Dad for celebrating 50 years of marriage on June 5, 2026!
This is such an incredible milestone, accomplishment, and testament to love and commitment.
"For richer or poorer" - My parents have dedicated their lives to serving others on the missions field for the majority of those 50 years. They could have lived luxurious lives of comfort as an RN and CPA but instead they chose to use their gifts in Southeast Asia to love and serve others and lead others to Christ.
"In sickness and in health" - Mom came down with chronic Lyme disease in 2002 which affected her ability to walk, caused significant pain and still affects her on a daily basis. There have also been many instances of fighting through other sicknesses and diseases in the family.
They raised 8 children and now have 19 grandchildren.
Despite having a large family, they are both very introverted and are not the type to hold a big party to celebrate themselves. So their ideal way to celebrate their 50th anniversary is to go on a camping trip with all of their kids and grandkids.
Even though they don't expect any big gifts, I really really want to bless them with a dream vacation, if possible.
They have never gone on a "true" vacation as most would define the word. And if i ask what or where their dream vacation would be, they say "wherever our friends or family are". But I finally got more out of them and learned they would love to go to Hawaii . I think it just seems so impossible and unrealistic for them financially which is why they don't say it outright.
But Dad would love to see Pearl Harbor and the mountains where Jurassic Park was filmed. And Mom loves the beach and would love to see the beautiful blue water there.
So I would be honored if you friends and relatives would be willing to help pitch in to gift my parents with a dream vacation to Hawaii.
Any amount would be greatly appreciated! Even if you can only give $5 or $10 right now, every little bit adds up.
I will share this surprise gift with them when we celebrate with them at the end of June.
Also, if you would like to send your congrats or any memories you have with them, please share that as well.
I super appreciate you all!
