Jim O’Keefe Scholarship
In loving memory of James O’Keefe — a self-made entrepreneur, proud Hudson community member, and lifelong believer in hard work, smart thinking, and brighter futures.
James O’Keefe built Tri-County Aluminum from the ground up through determination, creativity, and integrity. Though he never had the opportunity to attend college himself, he deeply valued education and often said he wished he could have gone. Instead, he built a successful business by learning, adapting, and believing in his favorite saying:
“Work Smart, Not Hard.”
James was a strong supporter of Hudson High School and sponsored countless local sports teams and events through his company. His daughter, Chelsea O’Keefe, proudly graduated from Hudson High and now teaches there — carrying forward his legacy of encouragement, hard work, and community pride.
This scholarship will be awarded each year to a Hudson High School senior who exemplifies perseverance, character, and determination — someone who has faced challenges, worked to overcome them, and continues to chase their dreams despite obstacles. It also aims to support students whose families may not have the financial means to pursue college or trade school but who have the drive to make something great of themselves.
By donating, you’re helping honor James’s legacy and giving a deserving student the chance to “work smart” toward a bright and successful future.
Every dollar will go directly toward the James O’Keefe “Work Smart” Scholarship Fund, helping keep his generous spirit alive for years to come.
