Help a Friend Rebuild After a Devastating House Fire
While my friend was at work, a fire broke out in his home. The fire was caused by electrical wiring behind the landline phone plate, and in just a short time, so much of what he had worked hard for was gone.
Most heartbreaking of all, he lost all four of his cats to smoke inhalation. Thankfully, his two dogs, Ahsoka and Anakin, survived.
We are hoping to raise $10,000 to help him secure a new place to live, replace basic necessities, make up for lost wages, and begin rebuilding his life after this devastating loss.
At least half of everything he owned was lost to fire, soot, or smoke damage. His kitchen was badly burned, and almost all of his kitchen supplies are gone. Very few clothing items, bedding, and pieces of furniture could be salvaged.
Friends, family, and members of the community have already shown incredible kindness by donating a bed, clothing, and some kitchen items. He is deeply grateful for every bit of help he has received. But he is still facing the enormous challenge of starting over.
He needs to find a new place to live and come up with a security deposit and first month’s rent. On top of that, he has lost two weeks of wages because of the fire and will need to replace basic necessities and furnish his new home.
For now, he is sleeping in a tent in someone’s backyard. With the nights getting colder, finding a warm, safe place for him and his dogs has become an urgent priority.
Anyone who knows him knows that he would much rather work for what he needs than ask others for help. Asking for donations does not come easily to him. But sometimes circumstances are completely beyond our control, and we have to allow others to help carry us through difficult times.
He is trusting that God is in control, even in the middle of this heartbreaking situation.
If you are able to contribute, any amount—large or small—will help him take the next steps toward rebuilding his life. Your donation can help provide a safe place to live, replace basic necessities, and give him and his dogs a sense of security while he gets back on his feet.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as meaningful and can help us reach people who may be able to help.
Thank you for taking the time to read his story, and thank you to everyone who has already prayed, donated, provided items, or offered encouragement. Your kindness and generosity are helping him see that he doesn’t have to face this alone. ❤️🙏
