Journey To Healthier Me
Hi….
This is something very new to me and maybe this won't work, but I'm doing it for my health, quality of life and ultimately for my family. Especially my kids…
My name is Tammara. I'm 30 years old, a wife, mother of 4 and momma to an angel baby in heaven. I have battled with my weight since I was in 3rd grade. Once puberty hit my weight started to climb. When I was at that age I just thought it was normal, not saying it's not normal, but I didn't think there was anything wrong with the way I was gaining weight or my eating habits. Mind you I didn't have the greatest influence when it came to eating, hence why I have struggled with weight. Anyways, here I am almost 31 and still struggling with weight loss. Weight gain, ha, that's easy, too easy in fact. So easy that even when I'm following a healthy eating diet and exercising regularly I still can't seem to lose more than 20 lbs. At my highest weight of 271 lbs in February of this year I have been working hard to focus on calories in vs calories out and exercising at least 2-3 days a week. But here I am stuck at 258 lbs and finding it harder and harder everyday to not binge and overeat. When I'm hungry I think about food, when I'm not hungry I think about food. I try so hard to stay busy with my family and keep my mind off of food but it is a battle I have lost on many occasions. So, I am looking into VSG or Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. No this isn't the easy way out, this is a tool to help me get a grip on my hunger, better my mind, body and over health and quality of life. But as a mom of 4 and wife, we don't really have that kind of money to fork over. So here I am in the not so comfortable way asking for help. I have to raise $4600 for surgery. This includes pre op and post op care as well as travel to have surgery with Renew Bariatric in Tijuana, Mexico. Yes, I said Mexico. They are very well known for their Bariatric surgeons and surgeries and come highly recommended from the weight loss and Bariatric surgery community. I know it's a lot to ask for help, but I'm desperate. I appreciate and am so blessed that you have taken the time to consider helping me and even if you can't I still thank you.
