In September 2026, June was diagnosed with CIC-DUX4 sarcoma, a rare, aggressive, and fast-growing type of high-grade soft tissue cancer. On her birthday, September 30th, she was given the devastating news that she would need to begin an aggressive course of chemotherapy as soon as possible.

Because of the intensity of the chemotherapy recommended for her, June must first undergo egg retrieval and IVF to preserve her fertility, should she want to have children in the future. At a time when she should be thinking about her future, June is instead facing decisions no one her age should ever have to make.

June is young and otherwise healthy. She would much rather be outside with her boyfriend, Jacob, or at home playing with her cats, Maus and Hanky. She is incredibly fortunate to have a loving and supportive network of family and friends surrounding her, but the financial burden of treatment and fertility preservation is an overwhelming reality, especially when many of these expenses are not covered by insurance.

June should be able to focus on fighting this cancer, and getting through treatment, not on whether she can afford the care that could help her get there.

This fundraiser is intended to help ease that financial burden and give June the freedom to make the decisions she needs to make about her treatment and her future without having to let cost determine her choices.
