My name is Amanda, and I'm raising $50,000 for my baby sister, Destinie Sue Daniels.

Destinie was found unalive in an apartment leased to her ex-boyfriend.

For weeks, neighbors consistently complained about a horrendous odor coming from the apartment. Those complaints were not acted on. It was only after a second call asking police to investigate that anyone responded.

We are calling this out for what it is: a failure. We believe the landlord and the police department failed Destinie. Their negligence allowed this situation to go on far longer than it ever should have, and our family was robbed of the chance to get her help sooner.

We still don't have answers about what caused Destinie's death. We intend to get them.

Your donation will go directly to:

1. Hiring an outside forensic lab to perform a secondary autopsy — to review pathology and run whatever testing is needed to determine exactly what caused Destinie's death.

2. Hiring an attorney to help our family navigate the negligence by the landlord and police department and understand our options for accountability.

Our goal is $50,000 to cover the forensic lab, pathology review, testing, and legal fees. If we raise more than needed, it will go toward any additional testing or legal costs related to Destinie's case.
