Justice for Donnie: Legal
Help Donnie Skillman Get the Justice He Deserves
We are raising funds to help Donnie Skillman secure a new lawyer after facing serious legal issues caused by law enforcement misconduct, ineffective legal representation, and violations of his constitutional rights.
Here’s what happened:
Search Warrant Issues:
A search warrant was executed, but it was missing critical details, including key exhibits and a sworn affidavit.
Donnie wasn’t even present at the location when the search took place.
Discovery Issues:
The video evidence provided only shows the ground and feet—no faces. Not exactly the clear-cut evidence you'd expect.
Counsel Concerns:
Donnie’s court-appointed lawyer was ineffective and failed to act in his best interest during his bond revocation hearing.
Attempts to request new counsel have been met with resistance from both his lawyer and the court.
Law Enforcement Misconduct:
Officers at the jail have refused to provide Donnie with paperwork to request new counsel, insisting he stick with his current lawyer, despite clear issues with representation.
U.S. Marshals informed Donnie’s special needs sister of his guilt before any conviction, violating the presumption of innocence.
Constitutional Rights Violations:
Fourth Amendment: The search warrant was incomplete, potentially making the search an illegal seizure.
Sixth Amendment: Donnie’s right to effective assistance of counsel was ignored, leaving him without proper defense.
Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments: His right to due process has been compromised, with law enforcement treating him as guilty before his trial.
Donnie deserves a lawyer who will fight for his rights and ensure he gets a fair trial. We’re asking for your help to raise funds for a new attorney who can challenge these injustices and provide the defense Donnie needs.
Please donate and help Donnie get the justice he deserves. Every contribution makes a difference.
