KariAnn's Recovery

Kari was in a car accident on Wednesday September 28th, 2022. She went off the road and hit a storm culvert/field entrance causing the vehicle to flip and land upside down. The vehicle incurred $15,000 in damage and was totaled out. She sustained severe injuries throughout her body and was in the ICU at the university of Iowa for 5 days. She has to be out of work with work with very limited physical activity for 6-10 weeks depending on how everything heals.

Her injuries include a major concussion, 3 broken ribs, a punctured lung, broken hand, broken foot/ankle, broken and severely jammed fingers, and had multiple cuts on her face that required several hours of medical attention and stitches. Plus severe bruising across the body. She isn't capable of lifting over 5lbs of weight at the moment and struggles with most/all daily activities. It will be a long road to recovery but we are all thankful she's alive.

The physical and mental stress of everything is extremely overwhelming for her at this point. We started this fundraiser to help relieve her of some of the financial burdens she is facing so she can focus on recovering. The money raised will cover her monthly bills, medical expenses, upcoming dr. Appointments in Iowa City, child care expenses, and pay for the repairs of her jeep so that she can return to work as soon as she is capable of doing so. Any amount is beyond helpful and is definitely appreciated. This accident has been a major life changing event and has literally flipped every aspect of her life upside down. It will require a lot of adjustments both now and in the future. Every little bit of help relieves a little bit of stress. This fundraiser will help her be able to focus on a quick recovery and focus on getting her life back to normal as soon as possible.
