Hi! My name is Tiara. I am the eldest of my mom's 6 children. As some of you may already know, our Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this month. 

As of today, she has met with her surgeon and has a lumpectomy scheduled for February 1. After pathology reports are done, she will have a better understanding of what she is up against. 

My mom is one of the most selfless and caring people I have ever met. Over the years I've seen her go above and beyond to help other members of our family, her friends and even people she has just met. 

My mom is an Army veteran of the Gulf War as well as the Iraq War. My siblings and I have joked over the years when my mom has faced something difficult that she will get through it because she is “Army Strong”. We have zero doubts that she will come out on the other side of this and continue to live her best life. 

Following her lumpectomy, our mom will need to do at least 2 weeks of radiation. Her surgeon has recommended she take at least 8 weeks off of work due to the nature of her work as a CNA. During this time my mom will not be generating any income. My adult siblings and I will be doing what we can to help her during these times, but we've decided to also allow others to help if they feel called. Thoughts, prayers, good vibes are all welcomed and appreciated as well.
