Keep my Home Disabled Vet

📖 My Story

My name is Richie. I’m a 100% permanently and totally disabled U.S. Navy veteran.

Over the last year, life has been unforgiving. I fell behind on 13 months of mortgage payments because I trusted a friend to stay in my home while I was away, getting treated in the emergency room for over 90 days straight. I was hospitalized every day while also having to pay hotel bills ranging from $150 to $350 a night — until everything I had was gone.

When I finally returned home to North Carolina, my heart sank.

  • My home was damaged and ransacked — doors kicked in and still broken.
  • My bills were stacked sky-high.
  • I have no car, and the nearest store is 30 miles away.
  • I barely have food to eat each week.
  • I’ve been living paycheck to paycheck, just trying to survive.

I’m not lazy. I’m not giving up. I just need a hand — not a handout — to help me breathe again.

💡 What I Need

  • 🏠 $9,000 to bring my mortgage current and avoid losing my home
  • 🚪 Repairs for doors, locks, and basic living essentials
  • 🚗 A reliable used vehicle so I can get groceries, work, and rebuild
  • 🥣 Weekly food assistance
