Well, now she needs us! She suffered a devastating loss when her apartment burned down in a fire. She didn't have tenant insurance and only received $200 from emergency services to get back on her feet, which isn't even close to enough when she's lost everything except for Tuna and her passport.

Kim will need everything from a new couch, a new bed, a new TV so she can watch VPR to dog food, a dog bed, etc. On top of that, Kim needs to find somewhere new to live. Finding affordable housing is insanely difficult, so she will need money to pay a deposit and make sure she is comfortable for a few months.
