Last Chance to be Happy

I hope that my plea for help finds all in good health and doing well. I am reaching out to all the kind hearted and caring individuals who has it in their heart to assist other individuals in reaching their goal of reaching happiness.

Hello. my name is Michael Collier, a 62 year old disabled single man who resides in Carriere, MS. I live alone and rent a room in someone else's home. I am on my own and live alone with no assistance when needed. I was forced to live this way since February of 2017 when I became disabled due to Type 2 Diabetes and the complications that accompany the disease. In 2017 I was working as a transportation driver for a non-ambulatory company driving the elderly and disabled back and forth to their appointments and such in which I was earning a decent wage for doing so. In February of 2017 I was diagnosed with Immaculate Degenerating Eye disease and Diabetic Retinopathy and was told that I could no longer work in my field anymore and needed to file for disability. I would eventually lose my sight due to Diabetes.

This left me without an income so I filed for disability benefits and was approved in October of 2017. I was awarded $714 a month, less than half of what my earning were at the time. Up until that point I had no income at all and was surviving on what money I had in savings towards retirement which was rapidly being depleted, especially as inflation started climbing through the roof. I am not a quitter nor do I give up easily so I started searching online for a way to supplement my income from home and discovered that 90% of everything cost to much for there courses or were complete scams. I even went as far as to post on Facebook a request that if anyone knew of a legitimate way to earn money from home to please contact me as soon as possible. That turned out to be a complete waste of time as well. The only thing good that came from that posting was that I met my now fiancé, Rochael. She was a Filipina woman who was working under contract in Kuwait at a boarding house there but her home was in Davao City, Philippines.

Over the next few years I did receive small increases in my monthly benefits but my health began failing drastically. I was not only going blind but now was dealing with liver disease and lower GI issues due to taking the Diabetes medicines for so long and was struggling to maintain somewhat of a life on my own. It was our plans for when Rochael's contract was fulfilled she would return home and I would relocate there and we'd be married. At least there I could afford to live decently on my benefits and wouldn't be facing my health issues on my own. I was to liquidate all my belongings here in the US and move there at least that was the plan. After liquidating all my assets including the selling of my only transportation and about a week before I was to leave, the pandemic hit and travel bans were set in place. This put a halt to everything.

During the pandemic I did receive an increase in benefits up to $841.00 a month but also developed an infection in my foot and had to have half of my foot amputated. During this time I was having to use the funds I had saved to relocate just to survive and those funds were now almost depleted as well. In March of 2022 I received another increase in benefits to $878.00 monthly, then again in February of 2023 to the amount of $914.00 monthly. At the same time My rent had been raised $150.00 a month as well. The following month I was hospitalized and had to have 4 stents inserted in my heart. Four days after being released from the hospital I collapsed and had to be airlifted to a major hospital 75 miles away that was more equipped to treat me. I had had a reaction to the blood thinning meds that the cardiologist had subscribed and lost 4 pints of blood. On October 1, 2023 I received another increase in benefits up to $943.00 per month. I came home now but am now facing kidney failure. I received a letter from SSA informing me that I will no longer be receiving SSI but was being transferred to early retirement and my benefits will be decreased down to $671.00 a month. There is no way I can live on that and I now will soon be homeless. My only solution is to some how get the funds needed to relocate where I have someone to take care of me and still afford to live. I don't make enough to save any money or do I have anything of value I can sell. This is why I am asking for kindhearted good people to help me to get the funds needed.

The cost to relocate is approximately $3,995.00 and I am trying to raise $3,800.00 total. This covers all documents needed, airfare, shipping of my things, rent for when I arrive there, food and necessities or miscellaneous items I may need during travel including hotel accommodations for layover during the flight. I would appreciate anything that anyone can donate as every penny helps. I don't want to end up passing away homeless and on my own. Please, if you can.. help me to finally be happy. Thank you in advance and God Bless.

*UPDATE 1* - On February 14, 2024 I was rushed to the hospital by ambulance because of breathing and heart complications. I was told that they were considering the fact that I may need a heart transplant or at least open heart surgery. I had suffered another heart attack and remained in the hospital and released to come home on February 19, 2024. If I don't succeed in this campaign I will probably not live long enough to be happy again.

*UPDATE 2* - On April3rd I was once again rushed to the hospital for breathing and heart complications and released on April 6, 2024 and am back home.

PLEASE, anything you can spare, $5, $10, $15 or anything you can spare would be a life changer for me and would be much appreciated.
