For Laurie-Because some eyes deserve the best lens

This is Katie, one of Laurie’s longtime family friends, sneaking in to do something she’d never do for herself.

If you know Laurie, you know she’s the one behind the lens at every birthday, wedding, sunset walk, hospital room, and random Tuesday adventure. She’s the person who somehow catches the exact second your kid’s face lights up and the way morning mist curls around a single wildflower.

Laurie doesn’t just take pictures of people; she translates the soul of the earth. Dew on a spiderweb at dawn, the impossible blue of a jay’s wing, frost tracing secret patterns on a fallen leaf, the moment a wave decides to become sea-foam—she sees it, feels it, and gifts it back to us forever. Her nature photos stop scrolls, quiet rooms, and remind complete strangers that the world is still breathtaking.

Her camera is getting old now. It’s been dropped, rained on, snowed on, cried over, and loved within an inch of its life. Lately it’s giving up. The repair shop finally said it’s time to let it retire with dignity.
