Help Leaf and Zain Get the Bed They Deserve

Nine years ago, Leaf and Zain bought their first real bed: on a mattress on the floor. It was simple, but it was enough.

Then, in 2020, everything changed.

They took in a disabled friend—me—and became my full-time caregivers. They never asked for praise. They gave their time, their energy, their comfort… all without hesitation. They made space in their home and their hearts, even when the world outside was falling apart.

The past five years have been filled with emergencies, illnesses, and the quiet, daily sacrifices that don’t make headlines. COVID hit hard. Savings disappeared. They’ve had to humble themselves more than once to ask for help—never because they wanted to, always because they had to.

And now, I’m asking for them.

Their bed—the one we patched together with old parts and well-meaning friends—has finally given out. The frame is collapsing. The mattress is beyond saving. It’s not just uncomfortable anymore; it’s physically painful. And with their health issues, sleeping on the floor isn’t an option.

We've done the research. We’ve found a mattress—a good one, that will support their bodies and help them finally sleep without pain. We’ve picked out a reliable frame, basic sheets, and made sure every dollar is accounted for. The total goal will cover:

• A queen mattress from IKEA ($599)
• A sturdy metal frame from Amazon ($130)
• Two basic sheet sets (about $50 each)
• Tax on everything
• (Stretch goal: new pillows—they haven’t had proper ones in over 15 years)

We’re trying to raise enough before the sale ends, because $150 is a lot for everyone right now.

If we could afford to do this on our own, we wouldn’t be asking. But life, as it often does, had other plans. And so here I am, the friend they’ve cared for all this time, asking for your help to give them something back.
