Let's Help Our Sweet Paizlie!

I've created this fundraiser to assist with the June surgery and medical expenses for Paizlie Pineda. I've known Paizlie since she was a little-bitty baby.

If you know Paizlie, you KNOW Paizlie! She's a kind, exceptionally funny, smart, talented and sassy little girl. She's one-of-a-kind and absolutely adored by her family, friends and a team of doctors. But you wouldn't know by her quick-witted and hilarious personality how very difficult it's been, in her not very long life, to eat and communicate.

Paizlie was born with a bilateral cleft palate, and in her 8 years, she's had 15 surgeries in a long process of giving her the ability to breathe well, and swallow food and liquids. And now to be able to chew and eat food properly. 

On June 12th, our sassy girl will have a big surgery. Her doctors will take bone from her hip and graft it into her mouth to repair and rebuild her upper palate and teeth. THIS is going to give Paizlie the ability to chew, eat and be able to swallow food in a way we all take for granted. 

As you can imagine, this is a surgery that will require a stay in the hospital, accompanied 24x7 by her mom and dad. And a long recovery which will keep her mom at home, caring for her.

Paizley will be on a special diet, will have weekly speech therapy, and down-the-road, the repair and replacement of some of her teeth. And Paizlie is a favorite with Austin Smiles, who help with wrap-around services for babies born with a cleft lip or palate.

Paizlie's parents have CHIP medical insurance for Paizlie, but will need to cover 20% of the expensive, complicated, (multiple doctors, multiple procedures/surgeries), hospital, follow-on appointments and speech and other therapies. 

We all know that health insurance alone, won't cover this bill. Nancy and Cris are expecting their expenses to be in the $7,500 range. I'd like to give them a cushion, just-in-case. 

Please help me help Paizlie and her parents, Nancy and Cris, and her big-sister, Nellie. Know that with your contribution, you are helping Paizlie in a life-changing way. And giving her family well-deserved peace-of-mind.
