#LEVISTRONG
Hello,
Our son Levi on February 9th of 22' was diagnosed withT-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, only 15% of children get this type which makes this type of cancer rare.
Not only did our son have cancer in his blood but he also. Had a Tumor that took up 98% of his left lung and that's what triggered his pediatrician to ask for an x-ray. The doctor said he didn't hear much moving through his left lung and thought he had some residual left over pneumonia which in itself scary for a child.
We took him to Akrons Childrens Hospital and within 24hrs we had a diagnosis and a treatment plan that started immediately and that was the start of his very intensive treatment plan which was supposed to last 6 months but after a few stays in the hospital stretched it out to a little over 7 months.
On Thursday the 29th so this past Thursday he finished a intense block of treatment and was put on maintenance that day as well. After returning home he started a fever that was 103.2 and quickly went up to 103.5 needless to say that's an immediate trip back to Akron and that's where he is at this very moment.
After blood cultures they he has a bacterial infection and is sepsis. These are not easy data for us, with countless trips back and forth sometimes 5 days in a row and then some bills not being covered has taken a lot out of us.
My wife went to part time as her job and I had found a job that would work with my unexpected schedule and wasn't much money.
I want to say thank you to whomever helps us during this very trying time and with God's help our son is going to walk away from this and look back and say I can anything I want to do after that. We love you all and godless.
