I am taking a life changing medication allowing me to eat somewhat normally again without having extreme reactions to nearly everything I eat or drink due to Mastocytosis. Mastocytosis is a rare disorder caused by the buildup of too many mast cells in the body, I specifically have systemic mastocytosis which affects internal organs and bone marrow. I would have near allergic reactions to everything I ate and even to water with some being worse than others resulting in a very restricted diet of only the things that caused vomiting, cramping, fatigue, and diarrhea instead of anaphylaxis. But with two incredibly expensive medications I am able to eat all of my less irritating foods with much more mild symptoms. One medication costs $3348.09 a month and the other is $2456.89. The $3348.09 medication is the one I am asking for donations towards as I cannot afford it on top of all my other medications and there is no copay cards or other assisting programs available and my current insurance will not cover it. I am in my final year of college and once I graduate and get a job with better insurance coverage I will be able to make the payments myself, but until then I am floundering. I've been desperate enough to put a couple months worth on credit cards because the benefits are life changing, but I am not able to continue to do so long term. Please help me afford this medication for the next year!
